Life Update

This photo is a week old or so (and super blurry, as you can see!), but I decided to use it for this post because it represents how I feel about life so much right now. Many of you who have been following TSP for a little while probably recognize these two handsome guys - Andy and Theatre Geek! 

We decided to try to start off the semester on the right foot by meeting for dinner, and boy was it needed. I hadn't seen these two in SO LONG and it was really nice to relax and feel like we were our current selves back in high school - does that make any sense? These two understand me like nobody else and catching up with them just felt like the the best thing to do. I'm hoping this is a bit of foreshadowing for more frequent get-togethers with my two best friends.

Color Run 2016

This past Saturday, I woke up at 5am and did something I never thought I would do: I ran a 5K. Now this is coming from someone who very truly dislikes running. Part of the reason I did it was because it was on my list of "Maybe I'll Try", and part of it was that my event planning group, APPLE, was sponsoring a group of students to participate. As you can tell from the exhausted yet quite wide smile on my face, it was definitely worth it. This is not a sponsored post, but y'all I 10/10 recommend trying out The Color Run with some friends!

Little Discoveries

My life is currently a bit of a mess. This upcoming week I will be taking a slight break from blogging. A lot of things have been happening, both fun and not-as-fun, but *fingers crossed and knocks on wood* hopefully everything will be okay and work out. If anything, 'stressed' backwards is 'desserts', right? I may be seeing the bottom of a tub of Ben & Jerry's soon...

Adele Carpool Karaoke | You have probably seen this video popping up everywhere, so if you haven't actually watched it yet, you need to do it. Adele is absolutely amazing and James Corden is hilarious. I had not yet checked it out when Harry Styles tweeted about it so to say I was excited when I first watched it was an understatement.

Emo Kylo Ren is Real | Well, sort of. He will be. Soon.

The FRIENDS Reunion is a Go | You probably already have this on your radars but do you know why the gang is getting back together? This probably should have been done a long time ago, but hasn't happened in part due to schedules but apparently some tension? Say it ain't so!

Biz Tip: Let's Not Do Coffee | I have a few different mentors and actually came to a similar conclusion as this article over the course of the past semester. Being upfront, available, and willing to learn has really helped me with not only gaining mentorships but maintaining them!

We had a White Elephant Exchange (which is super fun if you have never participated in one!), fun food, and just had an overall nice time. It was really great to spend time in a more relaxed setting with two of my mentors as well!

Well, the Southwest Championship tournament has been taking over my life this weekend. I'm placing my bet now that I will probably have had less than 15 hours of sleep by the time this is all over. I'm currently about to head out to my first round to judge of the day, but here's a picture of me and my friend Nick waiting for ballots to be released yesterday. #Frustration

The Best Lip-Sync Battle Yet | You remember the adorable couple in Step Up? Yeah, they're married. Did I mention it's Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum?! This is the most epic lip-sync battle and you are doing yourself an injustice if you still haven't seen it. Be prepared to laugh your butt off!

Fortune's MPW Tag | My favorite place on Fortune's website is their Most Powerful Women tag! This page is filled with articles on what powerful women are currently doing in the world. There's also this interesting one about the collaborative nature of women!

Same Old Love Remix | Selena's Same Old Love is a great song, but add Fetty Wap and it's amazing. Fetty Wap was recently mentioned in Forbes' 30 Under 30 Music - he's been doing a lot of stuff recently and this song is absolutely worth checking out.

The Haute Mess Instagram | Ashley Tisdale launched her blog last year and I have to admit that going through it is one of my weekly hobbies. I don't know how I didn't check out the blog's Instagram earlier but I love it and y'all should definitely give it a look over!

Over the Knee Boots | I am so obsessed with this trend but I haven't given in on buying a pair just yet because my calves are slightly larger so finding the right boots is really hard. This pair is really cute and on-sale, I may give in soon!

Fuller House Picture Teasers

On previous posts I have mentioned Fuller House and the teaser trailer for the season coming out on Netflix in only seven weeks, but this morning Netflix released the first photos! The house literally looks exactly the same and it's crazy to see my favorite family all grown up! The gang's all back, DJ's kids are so cute, and I can't wait for it to be February 26th already!

Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale

It's official, the After Party Sale is LIVE! This is my first time shopping the sale, and to be honest I'm trying to be a bit more frugal this year (at least at the beginning) so I made the conscious decision to not do the waking-up-at-5AM fiasco. I gladly slept in until around 9:30pm AZ time and I was really lucky because when I logged on, I was 10th in line and was able to shop the sale in minutes!

I know that a lot of people have horror stories about awful experiences, but mine was actually pleasant and I would recommend at least checking it out. I couldn't resist buying this dress, but I was really good about will power and the only other thing I bought is a makeup pouch to use as a pencil holder.

The sale is still up for the rest of the day and I will come back later in the day and link some of my faves still available!

#LoveOnAPlane | Get ready to kick off the new year with laughter! This news reporter decided to live-tweet a little budding romance she saw on her flight and it really took off from there. Reading the story altogether is great and actually reminded me of a more local, realistic version of Jennifer Smith's The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight.

Kathy Griffin Strikes Again | Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper are the Queen and King of New Year's. This video shows off one of my favorite moments from last night's segment: Kathy complained that Anderson was too pale so she gives him a little spray tan!

Taylor's Video is Out of the Woods | T.Swift's new video just dropped before the start of the new year and everybody is buzzing. When the album was released, I found this to be one of my sneaky favorites - I wasn't expecting to like it, but I constantly found myself putting it on repeat. I love the concept of the video and some of the filmography is just really well done.

Most Popular Places to Move To and From | We all have those places we'd love to live (i.e. New York, Chicago, Hollywood, almost anywhere in Hawaii, etc), but sometimes life works out differently. New Logo | I never really announced it, but The Southwestern Prepster recently had a slight makeover and got a new logo! I have been wanting to have a more professional logo designed for some time now, so when the opportunity presented itself, I just went for it! Let me know what you think!
